June 2013 Newsle..

Dear Baltimore Grade Level Reading Coalition:

June has been a busy month for the Baltimore GLR Campaign. This month we launched Read to Succeed, a collaboration between Baltimore City Public Schools, Baltimore GLR Campaign, the Mayor’s Office, Family League of Baltimore, Parks and People Foundation, Corporation for National and Community Service, and other non-profits that will provide a comprehensive summer program to 3,000 Baltimore City rising 1st through 4th graders struggling with reading.

We are also excited to announce a newly formed partnership with the Family Literacy Coalition under B’More for Healthy Babies, which will now serve as the school readiness work group for the Baltimore GLR Campaign and the literacy committee for the Early Childhood Advisory Committee (ECAC) commissioned by Dr. Alonso and Mayor Rawlings-Blake.

Click here to read the full June Newsletter for information about this and other progress as well as information about our next coalition meeting on July 25th. As always, please let me know if you have any questions, ideas, or feedback. I sincerely appreciate your partnership.

Regards,
Kimberly Manns
